Los vecinos de Guamin\u00ed, Guillermo Ecke y Avelino Nieto, recorrieron 180 kil\u00f3metros emulando la traves\u00eda hist\u00f3rica realizada hace 150 a\u00f1os por el coronel Marcelino Estanislao Freyre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El coronel Freyre el 11 de marzo de 1876 desde el Fuerte San Carlos de Bol\u00edvar emprendi\u00f3 su marcha acompa\u00f1ado por alrededor de 800 soldados, un contingente de ind\u00edgenas aliados y miles de animales entre vacunos, yeguarizos y lanares. La traves\u00eda culmin\u00f3 en Guamin\u00ed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los jinetes contempor\u00e1neos realizaron el recorrido en un tiempo menor al de aquella expedici\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica, ya que en 1876 el avance se realizaba con una gran caravana de personas, animales y carretas, lo que hac\u00eda mucho m\u00e1s lento el desplazamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta iniciativa forma parte de las actividades preparatorias por el sesquicentenario de Guamin\u00ed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
